Portrait Time!!!

Day of the Dead
If I post in the next 30 minutes I can hashtag this shiz #freakyfriday. A great photographer provided me a little source material to do a portrait for her (with some artistic license). Thanks and you’re welcome!

Turkey Gobble Squirrel

corn stalk pumpkin
Not much going on here yet – just setting the stage for some squirrel action. I missed my 4th of July squirrel opportunity so now I have ditch the gunpowder and explosions motif for the stunning death of leaves.

Demon Face

aaannndd…  it’s like I don’t understand how to be subtle when it comes to shading. All the atmosphere that previously existed before I started getting focused on the lines/contours/crevasses disappeared. At some point everyone finds the perfect balance between traditional drawing/painting and digital drawing, right? I find myself wanting a digital brush that drips like water/turpentine soaked paint? Is that a thing?

And on that note:

To my credit – at least I got rid of the undersized skeletal body with the gold armor and loin cloth that did not make sense. You are welcome, me.

Brisk Wanderings

brisk wanderings
Maybe still missing a little bit of low-lying smoke, but mostly where I would like it to be for your basic… entity wandering a lava-like field. Fall is seeping into my psyche.

FACE

self portrait
Drawin’ pictures of things around me, like my face.

blue lacey
Detail of the lacy blue thing in the background.

eyeball
Closeup eyeball. Still could use a bit more polish, but it exists.

It’s no Sam Spratt, but every little bit of practice helps.
